My child, my baby bp, is loose! He's in the middle of his 3rd shed since I've gotten him, and he has a hard time shedding his skin. His 1st shed came off scale by scale, and they've gotten better each time since. He still isn't having the best shed (skin flakes off in chunks) so I usually soak him in 93 degree water for 10 minutes every morning while he's in blue.

Well I put him in his tub this morning, and put him back in his viv and put the usual anchors on the lid (a large air matress in a box, weighs about 10 lbs, and two 5lb rocks on either end) then I went to work for 6 hours. When I got home I checked him to see how much of his shed was off.....and he was GONE! I don't know how that little guy lifted that lid up...but he must have!

He was in a 20g long tank with 4 hides, UTH, and newpaper substrate.

So far I've crumbled about 30 plastic bags and lined my room with them...and poured flour in front of my closet door and the main door to my room. My heating ducts are sealed...which made me very happy when I checked there because I don't want him lost in the ducts. I'm hoping he didn't leave my bedroom in that 6 hours that I was gone because I have a puppy pit bull who has already taken a liking to killing poor sparrow babies outside...I don't want to know what she'd do if she saw my Trigger!!

I'm sorry for the long post, I'm just wicked upset and this is tearing me apart. I have 6 other snakes in my care, and I feel like the worst person ever for letting this happen. Trigger is my baby, he went everywhere with me, he'd curl up in my hair. He'd come out of his hides when he saw me or when I opened his viv to take him out.

I miss you Trigger, come back!!!
