Little snake that could
For those keeping up with the saga:
Trey/Emily (I'm still calling it Trey really) has had this horridly stuck shed for 2 weeks. He had absolutely NO interest in moving around and trying to get it off! I tried everything, soaking, wet pillow case, damp cloth, ointment....I was able to get most of it off over the two week period, but about 2.5 inches of it remained. Jo advised me to leave it alone, since I've been tube feeding Trey, and the stress level was getting pretty high. I took that advice, as well as Becky's advice on the tube feeding. I had a couple of frustrating feeding sessions, where the tube just got completely clogged up and I had to abort.
Two nights ago I decided to dilute the food even more than I had been, and finally got some nutrition into the little snake.
This morning I got up and checked on the snakes. Trey was in his/her water dish, soaking! This is a snake that absolutely hates soaking, and has never done it willingly before. I thought that was very odd, but went about my day.
Tonight I went to check on him/her, and he had gotten the entire rest of his stuck shed off! It wasn't in one piece, more like 3, spread around the enclosure.
Just blew me away! Becky and Jo are truly my saviors as far as this snake goes. If he actually makes it, it will be because of their advice, as well as Jamie's. You guys are THE BEST!
