so my daughter and i were out for a 'girl's day' and we were delivering silk worms to the pet stores... well my daughter found something she couldn't possibly live without!

so can your find our new pet? nope it's not the ratties in the cage, not the fish in the tank (although there are two new fish in there as well) and not the millipede or the african land snail in the two sterilite bins on the shelf... keep looking...

did ya see her?

what i didn't realize until i got her home... her name is sasha by the way... is that she has the exact same colouring as our tortoise shell cat who died of cancer this year... even the line down her face of beige and grey! the main difference is that sasha is long haired and astarte was short haired. so of course... we are smitten by this little girl even more now that we noticed this!

here's a photo of astarte (with kira our other cat behind her) the night before she had to be put down...

i swore up and down and in and out that i'd never ever ever get another kitten or cat ever again... and then my 7yr old was looking at me from behind her new glasses with tears streaming down and that was it... i folded like a worn out chair!

but the good news is she is using her litter boxes like a little champ... i'm SO pleased

ya... i'm in love! ... again! (said in my best forest gump impression)
