Two months ago I received two black milks for my two sons. Really cool little snakes that are extremely squirmy when held. Anyway, about a month after we had them one of them escaped because the lid of the Sterilite box wasn't locked down. We searched high and low for that little gal. We left water around the house for her and even tried to lure her out with mouse pinkies, but no such luck. I finally gave up and figured we would either find her shriveled up years from now when we moved a box or piece of furniture, or she made it outside and is gone for good. I figured she wouldn't have a chance outside being that it had been rather cold in our neck of the woods, and even though black milks are known for being extremely durable, I didn't think she would make it being that we don't exactly have Costa Rican weather around here.

Sure enough, Christmas rolls around and we were getting ready to leave the house for the standard relative and in-law visits when we heard our dog barking outside. We live out in the country and she usually only barks when she sees/smells an animal that she can't get to. Well, she was barking at the missing milk snake in the backyard. The snake seems to be in great shape and was like she had never left her cage and had to fend for herself for a month. Pretty great Christmas present!
