My kids, Marty and Veronica are newbies here. Nice site! We got a BP earlier this year and are really happy with her and fascinated with all things snake. Sisss was bought on Craigs List from a guy who wasn't a bad owner, but not great either. She's really settled in to her new home and loves being handled. What a great new friend she is. She's a normal, and while we're absolutely wowed by the morphs, she's super special to us.

I took Veronica and Marty to a small event done by a guy who works under the name "Snakes Alive" and put on by the Santa Cruz County Parks. He brings a dozen different snakes and spreads out a big rug and lets the kids play with the snakes on the floor. It's so cool to see kids' eyes light up when they play with those critters. It's a great program and one I hope other communities have available to them. If you've got a collection or are a rescue outfit it seems like a great thing to do, not only to get folks into the herp hobby, but to at least take the fear of snakes away from people.

I was so proud of six year old Veronica and the way she so casually handled the various snakes. She's been holding 40" long Sisss and so a little gopher or corn snake was so easy for her. I promised her I'd let her get her own snake and I would help take of it with her. We have a reptile show coming to our area tomorrow and Sunday, so she'll have lots to choose from. Never been to such a show. Should be fun!

Anyone going to this show?
