Hey guys first time poster here.

I built a customer enclosure for my ball python, 6x4x2, after getting a second ball python and do more and more research I am going to split the tank in half creating 2 separate enclosures by simply adding a divider into the current enclosure. However I’m wondering about how I can use my existing heating elements.

When I started setting up the originally build enclosure I realized the seemingly MASSIVE amount of heating that was needed to keep temps in such a large space so I have a 150 DHP and a 160W Radiant heat panel. Now that I will be splitting the space to create two 6x2x2 I’m wondering how I could still use the 160W RHP to potentially help heat both enclosures? Could I install it running along the side of the two tanks and just cover it with a mesh cover to keep the snakes from touching the unit? I know RHP are ment to be installed on the top of the inside of the enclosure but is it possible to install it on the side to utilize the heat output in both living areas? I hope this makes sense as I can’t figure out how to post a picture from my phone.

I appreciate the help!
