Lots a person could say here, but one thing worth pointing out is that this sort of unwarranted emoting isn't uncommon when certain husbandry practices are the subject of reasoned critique. That suggests that the focus of those husbandry practices is less on snake care (the details of which have no reason to motivate such charged responses) and more on some deeper needs of the keeper. Unfortunate that some needs seem to involve mischaracterizing helpful and thoughtful advice in derisive ways.

I'm coming to realize that one thing I like about animal care is that it lets me get out of my own head for a while, to focus on some animal's needs rather than my own, but I guess there's a dedicated movement in the other direction too.

I'm sorry that you aren't seeing advice in the good spirit it was intended. Best wishes for you and your snake.
