My condolences. I know how you feel. My bp passed two months ago from a swelling near his cloaca (link). Sounds like you did all you could. Take your time and mourn. Two months removed and I'm mostly over it. I renovated my bp's enclosure and I'm looking forward to getting a new snake (a Children's python). I'm really excited about it actually, but hearing your story takes me back to when it happened. The pain is fresh again. I hope you feel better soon, but it'll be much longer before you're completely over it, if you ever are.
