    OMG Today is Whacking Day!

i used to be a big fan of animated sitcom The Simpsons and in their town of Springfield, May 10th was a celebrated holiday called Whacking Day during which the townsfolks would find, beat and whack snakes to death. i thought Whacking Day was a mock holiday of St. Patrick and St. Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland but it was actually an idea from one of the show writers who wanted to highlight the mistreatment of snakes motivated by real life events like big rattlesnake roundups in small towns.

anyways hate to spoil it for everyone, but Lisa and Bart w/ the help of Barry White end up saving a ton of snakes and help the townsfolks learn and understand the cruelty of their ways and the usefulness of snakes. turn up the bass, watch and listen to the magic and snake rescue happen:

    RIP Mamba
