    The entire time they were trying their hardest to get back to each other and as soon as they did they curled up together
    Enthropomorphism on your part and dominance on theirs.

    I can tell you that experienced keepers/breeders do not keep their animals together, now I can't tell you what to do those are YOUR animals, but I can tell you they are not cuddling they are competing over the same spot.
