    Scary Morning!

After working the night shift last night, I came home to start my regular 8am routine. The very first thing I do is check my snakes.

I go to the female first because she’s been picky about eating lately. She seems fine, just hanging out in her hide.

I go to my male to check on him....I don’t see him in his log hide. He’s always under his log hide. I slide his tank out and check under it....nothing. I check his smaller hides....nothing.

At this point panic sets in. I yell for my wife to come help. I triple check every inch of his tank. He isn’t there.

We started carefully tearing the bedroom apart and I’m thinking the worst has happened. He got out and our chihuahua has killed him

About an hour later we find him safely coiled under our couch in the living room. I’m not sure if one of the kids didn’t close his lid (The snakes are off limits to them without supervision) or he was somehow able to open it. Either way, he is safe and warming up under his RHP.

Anxiety levels back to semi normal. End of rant! Time to clean enclosures after he warms up for a while.
