Well, I just purchased a juvenile male Dumerils Boa this past Saturday at the IRBA show and I must say that I am totally pleased with my selection. I was looking at all the Boas at the show and I was turned on to the Dumerils by a fellow herper that saw me looking at the Columbian Redtail and what have you. I learned that the Dumerils is a much more manageable ( size wise ) Boa for someone like me that lives in an apartment....and the temperment of the Dumerils is beautiful...even MORE mellow than our beloved Ball Pythons...and a beautiful coloration as well...I selected a specimen that has high pink tones to his normal coloration...I have been doing some reading about the Dumerils and it turns out that their husbandry is a snap as well....they actually like it cooler than a normal Boa and they feed well and spend most of their time just hiding out...a real timid snake...what more could a snake lover ask for!!!!! I think that the Dumerils Boas are gonna be a real up and coming favorite with us snake hobbyists...I really recommend them...just a beautiful animal and a real no brainer to care for!!!!!
