Hey all, not sure if there are any other vine snake keepers here, but wanted to show you this guy and his progress since I picked him up. A bit of backstory, I saw him at a pet store in Portland and at the Portland reptile expo but wasn't sure I was ready for a lizard eater and all the things vine snakes need..
I went back to the store a few months later and he was still there but not looking as good. The white and black skin was showing, his head was brown, and he had bumps on him. I took him to the vet for the store and while they had wormed him when he arrived with panacur, he had parasitic worms under the skin, so they anesthetized him and removed the parasites and gave him fluids.
About two weeks later after bringing him home, he is looking 1000% better. Eating, drinks right from my hand, super calm and seems tame. He is only 16 grams so I thing he was imported young and lived in the store with lots of traffic, people, and lights. Hopefully he will continue to thrive in my care and will be with us for a long time. Below are some pictures of him along the way, and his enclosure. If there are any other people keeping vine snakes here I'd love to connect.
You can see more of him at 8-bit pythons on instagram, along with all our BP stuff
