ok so this vivarium took a little while to plan and build. it is 48"x24"x16" wooden box. I used 3/4" birch and sealed it heavily with marine varnish. the interior bottom is weird. 36" of the bottom is inside a 10"tall glass box to contain the soil and water. the 12 inches to the right, under the desert area, is sealed with a piece of plywood and silicone and capped with 3 inches of sand. in the empty spot underneath is the heat tape and wiring for the fans and controller. he has a mistking that sprays in the mornings 4 days a week for 11 secs. the substrate is the same mix I used in the ball python enclosure and it varies between 4 and 10 inches deep. he doesn't seem too interested in tunneling any more. now he just likes to hang out front and center in the Bonsai trees for the most part. his favorite are that coastal ivy and the duck footed ivy in the back. the lights are cree cobs that I wired. two 5600k and two 6500k cobs. it is completely overpowered but at least I have an excuse to build his tank bigger in the future. currently the lights run at about 20% to not burn the leaves of the trees. he has a uvb bulb on the desert side. everything is controlled by a herpstat 6 he shares with our BP. he also has 2 computer fans to help control the humidity and heat distribution.
the CUC is 5 blue feigning death beetles ( that imo should be renamed) 2 dermestid beetles, 5 species of isopod, 3 springtail, and 4 millipede species.
I haven't named him yet even though I have had him for months. he is also supposedly 100% lavender het but looks like a regular hoggy to me.
