Thermostat High Frequency Noise?
Alright, so this doesn't have much to do with herps, but more about my dog. Here me out!
since it's about a thermostat i though 'hey, maybe i can post it here'. sorry tho, and i dont mind getting my thread moved. i guess
ANYWAYS
So I have the Exo Terra 600w dimming and pulse proportion thermostat. It's pretty good and the better option to my original idea to get an On/Off cheaper thermostat.
Now, like a lot of dimming devices have, (like lamps etc), they tend to make a sound when dimming. And since my thermostat is not constantly on max power, it makes a high pitched very quiet sound.
If the therm is on max power there's no sound, and when it's off (not plugged out, its still on but theres no power going to the heat source) , there's no sound either. It's only this dimming sound.
Now here's my problem.
I have a very sensitive and delicate doggo, and my snake tank is in my room. at night, if my dog sleeps in my room, he starts to shake and pant and is very restless and wont sleep unless i have endless dog calming music on.
He always sleeps in my room no problem, but ever since I got the thermostat, and tested it out (before I got my snake) he refused to sleep. and my nr1 suspicion is the thermostat's sound.
He sleeps fine in my parent's room, and he wants to leave mine.
this isnt such a big deal for me (i just miss the cuddles cri).
has anyone else experienced this? and is there a solution besides letting him sleep in the other room. I'm fine with it, I guess. the last 2 nights he slept in my room, after I calmed him down with some music, but today when i turned the music off, after a while he got up again.
