Baby ball python almost had an accident... on the floor!

I had my baby ball python Vega (male banana) out to handle a bit. Here's a shot of him:

He's somewhat shy, so I had set him down about a foot away to let him decide when to explore/approach me. And I noticed he was doing something a bit odd after he relaxed out of his nervous posture. He was sort of wagging his tail. I wasn't sure what to think, so I took a few seconds of video before remembering a comment someone on here made about being careful about baby BPs out of the enclosure sitting still (basically that it equaled an incoming poop). He'd moved out of his usual shy posture- "if I am still the big human can't see me" - and then slowed to a stop to do the tail thing.

When I remembered it, I picked him up off the carpet and moved to hold him over his bin Just in case. Didn't quite make it to his before I got a present; the pic shows my corn snake Noodle's old bin (he just moved cages a few days ago).

I didn't think it'd be good to set him down there and let him move to get it all over the holes and the lid on his bin was in the way a bit on Vega's, so I just held him there.

On one hand, I had wondered when he was going to poop. He's done it before his next meal the first few times, but skipped from his last 3 meals...
on the other, I never thought I'd be able to say I held a snake mid-air for the full duration of it pooping (without it being a surprise poop/pee all over me while handling like my fiance has had happen to him twice handling snakes we were looking at buying at an expo).

So, thanks to whoever on here was posting a few months back about their baby pooping on their bed whenever he was out. Your experience has saved me from trying to clean poop and pee out of carpet.

    Extra pic, just because:
