    My little baladi

Recently we find out that our new dog, an import from Cairo, is known as a baladi, a semi ferel street dog with genes from several North African breeds i.e. Cannan dog, saluki, basenji, etc. there's a push to encourage adoption because a lot f people think of them as vermin and abuse them horribly. Although my little toasty was actually born in a shelter so thankful he has never known life on the streets, I've seen a lot of stories about rehabilitated strays turning into great pets. Anyway, if you're in the market for a really unique dog, see if anyone in your area is involved with rescue
