Red face Gentlest prey take down ever lol

Hi there! 1st time poster here.
As my user name would suggest,
    I have two Ball pythons a 3 y/o male and a 9 y/o female....and also a 6 month old female
BRB. This is regarding my BRB

Never have I ever seen a snake NOT strike and coil around a prey item... Be it live or thawed...until this evening...

She sniffed at the thawed hopper, nudged it a few times, and then just gently opened her mouth over it and begin to work on it. No strike..no coil. Nothin.

Has anyone every had a snake do this? LoL I found it very odd especially since BRB are known to be pretty voracious when it comes to feeding time. ..This is her 1st feeding with me since getting her a week ago.
