This is moderately related to the thread on The Real World. I am taking a Sociology of Education class for an upper leval elective. We are studying different means to teach people things. I have the opportunity to teach my class the true nature of constricting snakes through actual hands on learning from one who knows and it is practical. We are to teach what we know, but not lecture, so I am bringing Kitty in and taking the class much beyond what we all got to see from the animal guy in elementary school and the reptile room at the zoo. I am so excited. I get the opportunity to dispell many misconceptions about snakes and thier behaviors, as well as thier diets, needs, enviromnents and so on. I am so excited. There are so many negative images of snakes in the media such as the real world, and so many who mistreat them without punishment. I am so excited. I only have 10 minutes though, does anyone want to help me write my lesson plan? Post now![]()
