Can a Red tailed Boa have constipation ?

The poop of My 11 months old male Red tailed Boa was weird this time. It was in the shape and the size of a chicken egg, hard and rolled up like a chicken egg. It did not smell like a poop. At first, i thought it might be soil. I had to catch it and smell it closely. When i took him out of his cage, i was able to feel something inside his body at the area where he usually poops that is in the shape and size of a chicken egg and as hard as such. In addition to that, i saw him 3 times in the last 36 hours drinking which is unusual for him to drink that frequent. Could he be having constipation? If yes, should i take him to the vet or he will get over that alone? His size is bigger than his age 3,8 feet long.
