BPs will spend the vast majority of their lives hiding, and are nocturnal by nature, so the ambient light in the room is plenty.
I do have one 60W day time bulb, but I liked the blue bulb more because it seemed to put out plenty of heat(when my room isnt freezing). So I got a 2nd 75W blue bulb and I have them both on full blast right now.

As far as thermastats go, which ones will dim the light to maintain the temp? Right now I have a zoo med thermostat, and it just turns the UTH on and off. The lights I have on all the time. They barely put out any light tho.
