Hi guys,
So I've had my new ball python for about a month now. He's just an average normal, adult, that I received from a rescue center about an hour or so from me. He looked and acted healthy, and has so until today. He's eaten twice (the latter time being this past Monday) as well as having defecated, and urinating regularly. He's also had access to two hide on either side of the tank, which he uses regularly. My humidity ranges from about 40-50%, and temperatures 90F constant on the hot side and 80F day/75F night on the cool side/ambient. I had thought that these were appropriate stats.
Now for the issue: Today I noticed, while handling, that he had a rather loud whistling while he breathed. He showed no other signs of RI (bubbling at the nostrils or mouth, mucous, etc.) and he was acting completely fine. I have a vet if need be, but if this is an RI, I'd like to deal with it at home first if possible. Please, any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank You,
LJR
UPDATE: Just checked and learned that the cool side temps has been dropping to 68F during the night. This is obviously way too cold, however, my BP usually is on the hotside of the tank until the morning. Could this drop be the cause of the issue?
