So this last season I did pretty well. Relearned a lot after so long out of the hobby and am now looking forward to the next season. I have no intention of going nuts as this is still just a hobby and am looking at producing 3-5 clutches this season. My end goal is to produce enough that the collection is self sustaining. I was able to do that last year, and see no reason why I can't this year.
That being said, I'm really torn as to what to go for. I have several projects in my head that are just for me and will take a couple of years to see to fruition. 3 recessive lines will do that to a guy. Ghost/Hypo is one of those. True Ghost is another with my VPI acquisitions this year although my 0.1 will not be ready to breed. And I have the 1.1 Pieds.
The only one that I have locked down is putting my 1.0 VPI Spider with my 0.1 POG for some double hets to move the True Ghost project forward. Double het Bees would be nice!
Here's where I'd like input from folk with a bit more current experience. This list of BPs ready to go is:
1.0 Banana
1.0 Huffman
1.0 GHI Chocolate het Ghost
1.0 Black Pastel Mojave Yellow Belly (might be ready late season, hatched 5/17/2016)
1.0 Pied
1.0 Lesser
1.0 Mystic Potion
1.0 Mojave Yellow Belly (proven)
0.1 Humble Bee (probably put her with the GHI)
0.1 Pied
0.1 Lesser Huffman (Either Mystic Potion or the Black Pastel Mojave Yellow Belly later in the season)
0.1 Killer Bee
0.1 Pastel Yellow Belly
0.1 Spider
0.1 Pastel
The rest of the girls need another year and Tex has the year off. So there it is. I've played with the morph calculators. I've looked at market trends. I have a loose idea of what I'm going to do, but would love the input.
Thanks in advance,
Dave
