Hey! I'm new to this site but I have a couple questions about my new ball python. First off, I've had one before back in 2012 but ended up getting rid of her. I finally got another one and she is so different then the last one I had. She NEVER comes out from under her hide (I got her 4 days ago) unless I get her out. Which I plan on stop getting her out for a few day like recommended. But at night I never see her out like most snakes. I wake up a lot during the night but when I look over she's not out. My last snake was definitely the complete opposite. Anyone know why? or if I should do something different? Her temp and humidity is all correct from the research I did. She is in a 20 gallon tank with 2 hides and water. I have the coconut husk shavings as bedding (I'm allergic to all the other types of beddings).
My next question is feeding. She is suppose to be getting fed this Friday and I was so excited I forgot to ask the lady at the pet store what size she was eating but from having a snake before I had an idea on what size. My question is, is it okay to feed live mice? My last snake refused to eat the frozen ones and my mom had a fit over them being in her freezer. And the live one (at the place I get them) are cheaper than buying the frozen ones.
Thank you for anyone who can help me!![]()
