Hi Everyone,

This is probably going to be a very ordinary thread for you all but I'm about to get my first bp and just want to make sure I'm doing the setup right/ get some advice.

I bought a second hand viv (which I am going to THOROUGHLY clean using some reptile safe cleaner) that used to house a lizard, it's 80x49x40cm.
I was thinking either to put in loads of hides and cover and move the young'un straight in, or get a tub and put that inside the viv for the time being so that he doesn't feel too exposed - which would be best?

So for heating: The viv came with a ceramic heat bulb inside but I think belly heat seems better - I was going to get a 39x27.5cm (20w) uth for the warm side, or is this too big? Also, I live in a chilly place (the U.K) and was wondering if I could maybe use the ceramic bulb (with a guard) in the winter months to improve the ambient temp of the viv, will this work? Of course both heat sources will have a thermostat and electric temp and humidity probe.

I'll have a humidifier in the room anyway so I'm hoping humidity won't be an issue.

Please just let me know if this sounds okay or if you think i'm doing anything hideously wrong!

Thanks so much
