Hi, I have been trying to do all of the research I can, so if my question has been answered somewhere else, please link it cause I have yet to see it :/

I AM ABOUT TO WRITE A BOOK.

main issue: earlier today I went to pick her up, she was in hide on cold side of cage, she was standoffish (not like her.) When she relaxed I picked her up and put her in her happy spot (my shirt/bra/cleavage) because she was cold feeling. She started worming about and came up by my ear and I heard a POP. I was once in love with my friends snake and we had bonded, she died of a RI, I know this pop sound. I swear I saw a snot bubble. put back in cage, made a bunch of phone calls to have her seen asap. It's like four hours later, i've been messing with the temp in the cage, and I can no longer her anything about her breathing? No snot bubbles? I am confused. (still taking her to the vet, but confused.

Here is the deal; I have lived with snakes before but I was not their caregiver.

I picked up my BP from a local pet place on Wednesday, very young (less than a foot,) and not sure of the sex, so i've just been calling the BP a girl. I made a huge mistake on my end, being that I did not go out to BUY a snake. I fell in love when she nuzzled me after hanging out in shirt and couldn't live with out her. (I am fully aware, now, that I should have done my research first, for her safety, but I can be an uncontrollably impulsive person.)

That day I got some of the substrate the store was using with the other balls in their tank, a 10 or 15 gallon terrarium with a mesh top, a 50 watt infrared bulb, a hide(that she hated) and a water bowl. Got home, did research, put cage in unused bedroom to keep her away from traffic. Next day picked up thermo/hygro, a proper hide and UTH for belly heat.
tested UTH with a meat thermometer (best i had) running WAY TOO HOT. Turned it off, used bask lamp for the last few days while I waited for a thermostat (repti 500r) to come in. Now i have a digital thermo with a probe.

I have trouble keeping this tank the right temp. (i now know racks are more opportune and I am gathering supplies) I live in misourri, it is very humid in my area and house, apparently. I've been fiddling with getting everything just right with out the proper supplies. (heat lamp, covering parts of the mesh, uncovering parts etc.) Now, save one 80% spike, humidity stays around 50-60% tank on average (humidity shoots up to 60 and up when infrared heat lamp is off)
Ground temp has been in between 84-88 (when read with digi thermo, probe place just outside of the hide she was in.)

I did not use the UTH while I waited for the thermostat, for fear of burning her.

I had not touched her since Friday, just fiddled with the lamp and such, because I wanted her to get happy with her home so I could feed her today, since she had only been at the pet store a day or two before purchase and had not been fed by store yet.

and then the story goes as initially posted. Pop, and now nothing.

Currently I am trying to get the heat to a solid 90 on the warm side. I'm checking on her every 30 mins or so. She keeps sticking her noodle neck out of her hide and I think she's hungry so I'm thawing the mouse for her to she if she'll accept it.

I still plan on taking her to a vet ASAP, and I know its not a great idea to move them after feeding for a while, but I'm so worried about when she last ate.

In general, I am worried hahaha. So, any advice, any experience? I just want to hear from some one who knows this. Not like " this is the answer/solution." I literally just want to talk to people about this, to alleviate my anxiety and feeling like an awful snake-mom. I live in the middle of no where so there's no herp society. and don't really have any friends at this base, nonetheless any with reptile experience.

Sorry, this is unorganized and difficult to read, I tried not to make it one long run on sentence and separate it out. But we see how that went.
