I went out in the woods today for some research in my fungi biology course. Tromping around soaking wet in the rain and the mud, I happened to snap this picture:
Your standard little juvenile American toad (Bufo americanus), nothing special...but seeing these little guys out in the wild, letting one hop into (and quickly out of) my hand, listening to them "sing"....it reminded me again why I do what I do, and why it's worth so much effort.
Just thought I'd share with you guys. There's beauty all around us...you've just gotta look.
