I just got a Spider ball python from a local breeder and she is extremely nice. Tonight I was holding her and wanted to take a picture of her when she was on the floor spread out. I didn't know the flash was on and it spooked her. When I tryed to pick her up she hissed at me and ended up running into my heat vent. It took me 20 mins to get her out, I ended up using a snake hook which never used before to get her out and then I put her back in her cage quick.
I feel stupid for freaking out when she hissed, I just never been hissed at before. And she was really startled. I used the hook hoping that the incident would be rembered more as the hook then me. She doesn't seem to be hurt at all just really spooked. Should I try holding her tomorow? Maybe offer her a rat?
