    Ah yes, the screwdriver did the trick. Kinda strange but it's still effective. 5 minutes after plugging in the new heatmat into the new mat stat, it's already at 82.2F and climbing. I've 'buried' the thermometer probe into the aspen shavings and used the corner of the cave hide to hold the thermometer probe to the floor of the RUB, that shouldn't really make the probe read a colder temperature I hope because the cave is a bit cold. I can feel consistent heat across the entire mat, unlike the other, so hopefully this heatmat is a good one! In one or two hours, I'll post if I got the temperatures in check.
