recently my snake has decided to always be on his cool side. and not just on the cool side but like sandwiched as far away from the heat as possible. lately i keep finding him all coiled up in the furthest coolest corner of the enclosure like it's unbearably hot in there, and he's out of his hides to do so. i bought a very nice digital probe thermometer so there is no mistake in temps. i even double check it with the cheapy ones and they say relatively the same temps as the digital. the floor on the warm side is a touch over 90, the floor on the cool side is about 81-83 and the ambiant air is around 83-86 cool to warm. is this not correct? is there something wierd going on with my snake?
the only thing i can think of is for a while i had the temps too low. the cool side was getting down to the mid-high 70's and the ambiant was in the upper 70's. the warm side has always been the same. when i was told that i needed to up it to lower 80's on the cool and ambiant as well i did. could he possibly have acclimated himself to lower temps and now it's just too hot for him and he prefers the cooler??
or could it be ventilation? maybe it's too stuffy in there now? i realize it's not a huge deal for some snakes to prefer their cool side but it just seems extreme lately, he looks like he's uncomfortable so it worries me.
