I just returned home from week vacation on feeding day for three of the snakes.
Esmarelda, my 1.5 year old Jungle Carpet usually gets a 3 course meal consisting of 3 small to medium rat pups. I just "upped" her to only one large weanling today.
As you see, she is used to 3 strikes, not one.
After one hour, she moves over to what she thinks are better hunting grounds for over an hour.
It was really hard for me not to bust out another rat. She was working/hunting so patiently.
I know about the urates. Being feeding day, I just reached in with my long tongs and picked up what I could while she was coiled. When she heads for the water dish I'll clean it up completely.
