Spoilers: I found Vigil. And Cake ate a live hopper.
I go home (without the snakes) over every weekend back to my parents' house, got back today, and Vigil was not in her enclosure. My roommate and I pretty much tore the apartment apart for 30 minutes and looked in every pile of clothes, under blankets, mattress, boxes, laundry, cabinets, etc. In the end, I spotted her freaking huddled inside the clean huge bag of aspen in the bathroom. Which means she squeezed her fat self under the 3/4 inch beneath the door, because I always keep the bathroom door closed. But thank god the apartment is so small and we literally don't have furniture besides a couple tables and our beds.
I was so relieved. But lesson learned, those binder clips are a lie. What the hell do those binder clips do to keep your snake in? Nothing. LOL. I need a lock-down upgrade. Piling books and heavy things on her enclosure for the time being.
And...
Cake ate... I finally got a live mouse hopper to try once and for all if he would take it, and it took him 10 seconds, but he did. He also spent 10 minutes swallowing the tiny thing head-first, and it makes me wonder whether snakes forget how to swallow after being off feed? He was off-feed for about 3 months.. and now I'm not sure whether he just wanted to eat live, or whether he was actually "seasonally off-feed".
This is the loser. What a nerd.
