So had the little guy for a week now, still unsure what sex it is, do not feel comfortable popping just yet. Starting day 2 of ownership I spent 5-10 minutes or handling the snake, I know most will say wait till the first feeding but the snake never showed major signs of stress, I generally knew when the snake had enough and put it back and left it alone. Sometimes I would go to handle it and all I would get was a hiss at my hand touching it, that was a hint saying "Don't touch me." so I left it alone. Finally around day 5-6 I noticed the snake would tense up as I went to touch it, and once I touched its side to pick it up it would relax, I would then spend 30-40 minutes handling it, even spent an hour watching tv forgetting I had it out and it was wrapped around my arm resting. Finally day 7 came, first feeding, I was nervous not knowing if the snake would eat. Picked up some frozen medium mice, (Arctic Mice 50g) thawed it out in luke warm water, got it up to room temp. Opened the enclosure and dangled it by its tale and no hesitation at all my juvenile ball python went right for it and I left it alone for the next 2 days.
