    Ball python can't start shed

    Hello all!

My young ball python is currently going through his first shed with me. I got him around 1 month ago, and he is around 2 month old.
My humidity is around 55% and heat is perfect. He has many rough choices to choose from in his terrarium, and two hides. The problem is that he has been in the final stage of shedding (his eyes cleared up and he started shedding from his head), for around 3 days, and the only skin that he has been able to peel off is the skin right in front of his nose. His eye caps and everything else is still covered in old skin (I think), because he doesn't have any shed loose in his cage. The skin on his body though is not even loose, the only loose skin is that in front of his nose.
I have tried bathing him once for 10 minutes (Which stressed him out - So I will try to limit his bath).
I have also tried increasing humidity (But it is very hard in the California winter).
Finally, I let him run through a damp mini-towel.
    All to no avail!
What should I do, and what does this mean (that he has only been able to peel back his nose skin)?

    Thanks,
    HenryTheSnake
