So I came across a picture on a photo sharing site of what I later found was a Bush Viper. They look really cool for those of you who know what they look like. I showed the boyfriend and his response was, "want." Because of how cool it looked. He told me to look them up, so I did, and I discovered that Bush Vipers are in fact venomous, but CAN be kept as pets. Our question is: can they be... De-venomated so to speak? Can the venom glands be removed? I did read that Bush Vipers should have an experienced snake owner. I wonder if this is because they can't have their venom glands removed? We are only considering the thought of having one as a pet. This would be good information if we do decide to pursue having an animal like this.
