This might just be me, but my pastel balls are starting to look kind of odd. I purchased a male pastel 100% het pied last year and paired him to a normal looking 100% het pied female. did not make the odds and got 4 perfect little pastel babies (but not pieds like I had hoped for). The father of these babies has very high white sides. I asked the breeder about this after I purchased him and they were really of no help, simply told me that they had purchased him from "another breeder" and they bred him once and got some nice pastels and stuff from him. they never even told me if the female they had bred him to was het for pied or not. they did show me photos of those first babies but I don't have a copy of it any more. At any rate, the reason I am posting this is because the babies I have are now into their 2nd shed and they are really starting to look a LOT like their dad. so I just want to know if this is normal for pastels or if maybe my male is caring something secret.
Here is the father, his name is Flick
Here are photos of 3 of his offspring from today:
this last baby is about to go into shed and her sister is in shed right now.
So what do you guys think? Am I seeing something more than what is there? I'm much better with betta splenden genetics and colors than ball pythons. this is my 1st clutch ever and I plan on breeding this male again this upcoming season, but 2 females this time. I really just want a pied lol.
Thanks,
Missina
