My adult male KSB has only eaten twice this entire year, but this is his FOURTH time going into shed! He last shed May 10th, so I was horrified to find him in blue again. I don't see any mites on him, but he has a few discolored belly scales, and at this point his tail looks painfully chapped. (Note that he had no stuck shed that I could see, so this is especially worrisome to me.) The very tip of his tail is red.
He's in a 16 quart tub with a 90F hot end and aspen bedding. I've used the same aspen bedding for years (bought it in bulk), but maybe I should try switching him to Care Fresh in case the aspen is the culprit?
Any ideas appreciated. I love this little guy.

EDIT! After a ten minute soak in luke warm water, I noticed that the driest looking scales have a brown mark in the middle. Does this indicate anything? http://i.imgur.com/yIXR1XG.png

I wonder if he got burned earlier this year and I somehow didn't notice, but would that account for a very dry tail?
