So I've been in Australia for the last six months, while I've been away my brother has been watching my snake, he's a male (I was told I haven't sexed him, he weights 1070gs and he's about five years old) I just got home last night, so naturally I came to my brothers house as soon as I could to see him. He seems to be doing good, all temps and humidity are good. He just feed yesterday so I did not want to handle him much, but when I glaced at his water dish I saw a bug on top of the water! I've never had mites (I have always inspected him and never seen any in the water dish before) this bug had wings on it... Very small but one was sticking out as he crawled on the top of the water. Basically my question is do mites have wings?
Also I use aspen bedding and I've heard of there being bugs in the bags from time to time I've never experienced it tho... Do you think that could be it?
Also after seeing the bug I immediately did a check of him, I was gentle and as I didn't want to handle him much due to him eating yesterday, I didn't see any mites, I checked his body and around his eyes, vents and mouth, nothing... I will do a more thorough check tomorrow or the next day as to give him more digestion time... I'm stressin as I've never had mites and don't want to start now, any thoughts or advice would be great, thanks!
