Legless Lizards

I've got eastern legless lizards in my backyard, and while they are cool they do not compare to the ones in this thread. Are they the same?

These are European Legless Lizards or Sheltopusiks They can get up to about 4 feet long, they may be similar in some ways but would be from a different genus than the legless lizards from the US. The ones you see in your backyard are probably Eastern Legless Lizards
