    Scale Rot help!

Hey guys! I've been having some issues with my BPs health. I noticed he has some scale rot on his belly and immediately switched him to a dry tank with just newspaper as substrate. The advice I got was to clean the affected area with chlorhexadine glutamate 4% and then cover area in polysporin once every two days. Since starting this treatment it only seems to get worse. Yesterday when I went to reapply chlorhexadine solution I noticed that a few of the scales had started to blister. I drained the blisters and applied the solution again but his scales seem to be even softer and two are like wet paper almost, another came off completely. It seems to be creeping higher up. I recently just read that the polysporin may be a bad idea because it softens the scales in the area. The original advice came from a vet, but the oil based polysporin softening the scales does sound legit. Any advice would be appreciated!
