Hello all. I sure hope you all are enjoying the "wonderful" weather out there across the U.S. I live in Colorado and we went from 60 degrees on Friday to 20 degrees and snowing on Saturday. We've gotten almost a foot of snow where I live. Because of this weather I was unable to get out and get some more substrate. My problem was the tank was about a week over-due to be cleaned. The only substrate I had in the house was some Reptibark. Now I had heard to NEVER use certain wood bark as substrate but I couldn't remember which. So I Googled and found that most people were saying the stuff I had was ok, but others were saying they wouldn't risk it. I didn't find anything that said to 100% not use it. What I have is Fir Bark. The packaging says "any reptile" (but I know not to go by everything the package says ) So I used it and put my snake in the cage yesterday morning. Nothing has changed negatively with the snake but he is more active than she was before. It is pretty obvious she prefers this substrate as she didn't flinch or curl up when I put her on it (as she did with cypress mulch) The boosted activity might also be because of the cold….. idk. Temps and humidity are all where they should be.

I suppose what the question is have any of you guys used Fir Reptibark? Do you know anyone who has? and how long would it take to see if something is going horribly wrong?
