    Correcting my mistakes (Setup)

I just signed up on this forum so I suppose this is just as much an introduction, but please read the entire post before answering my questions, thank you!

First I would like to start with this: Everything I was told is wrong. I was lied to by the people I thought would help me begin the exploration into snake keeping (aka Petco). I am not here to talk about that, so please don't speak further of it. I am here to seek guidance and right my wrongs as a snake owner.

Currently, I have a (less than 1 year) Mojave Ball Python in a 10 gallon terrarium and a completely wrong set up. She is not a lizard and should not be housed like one... With help from a few people who ACTUALLY know what they are talking about, as well as reasearch of my own, I decided to go with a 32.1L locking bin until upgrade is required. I have aquired MOST of what is necessary and even melted a few holes, with room for more if humidity is too high upon completion.

    Now for the questions:

    1. Where is the ideal location for the UTH; under the "hot side" hide, OR, should it go in the center for even heating?

    2. I've read here that Ranco makes superior controllers, this is what I am missing. Before I actually place the order, is this the right thing? It is on sale for over half off on Amazon! (56% off!)

    http://www.amazon.com/RANCO-ETC-1110.../dp/B0015NV5BE

    3. I have also read on this forums that thermoSTAT probe goes on the pad outside the bin, and thermoMETER goes inside and above the mat. Does the device itself go inside, or just the one probe? Please explain how this should go, I don't want to mess up such an important step. D:

Thank you for taking the time if anyone actually reads this all, I really appreciate any assistance I can get for this situation.
