This is Karma. She was produced as a feeder rat. I got her to feed to my snake (the breeder said to feed her live a few times before switching to F/T) but I couldn't do it. I have a feeling she is special so I am keeping her as a pet. I got her when her eyes were still closed and she is a little over 3 weeks old now. I have bottle fed her since I got her and she has enjoyed spending time with me. She falls asleep in my hands, likes to cuddle, and is generally a joy to be around. The last few days she has started to nibble on my hands and it has only gotten harder, so it's becoming a bit painful. She latches on and doesn't like to let go now. I'm not sure what has gotten into her. From my understanding rats are very social creatures, so I am going this weekend to get her a few female friends. Because of this, I did move her to a larger tote... I think she likes it, but she has become more nervous. I'm at a loss. What do you suggest to make her more comfortable? We have such a great bond, but this is my first rat and I'm unsure of what to do now. How do I correct her behavior? Also, because Karma is going to be with some of her old litter mates, do I need to reintroduce them?
