Silva the Spinner(: - Pictures and a short story

I was contemplating the thought of getting a second BP, just a short month and a half after buying my normal. I planned on waiting a little bit before I bought another, just because I wanted to become more familiar with husbandry and all of the other ins&outs of owning a snake. I began researching different morphs, trying to figure out what would be the best to breed with the normal female. Granted, I wasn't expecting to get a really high end morph from the two, but my mindset was on that of getting the basics down before I invested in a more expensive female to pair with a male. I searched high and low on this forum, and Kingsnake.com (*admins, forgive me if plugging another forum is against the rules. I've read more stickies than most newcomers, most likely, and don't remember if that was a rule or not.), as well as breeders websites.

I was starting to get a little discouraged when I saw some very basic morphs a little outside my price range, and some inconsistencies in pricing among different sellers. It wasn't until I came across Reptiles By Mack that I had much hope. When I visited their website, I was quite impressed at the prices of their animals. A bit skeptic, I looked into the seller and found nothing short of exemplary remarks regarding the quality of their service, the animals, and their prices. With this newfound insight, I inquired about a juvenile male Spinner and was responded to in a very courteous and timely manner by Sandi Thomason. Sandi answered every last question I had in great detail, exuding her knowledge and passion for our scaly friends. It was at this time that I decided to purchase the Spinner. Sandi went as far as hand picking a Spinner in the size that I had requested, and also included a quality image of the little guy prior to his journey from Ohio to sunny Southern California

Silva made it here right on time, and in great condition. Unbeknownst to me, I was in for a couple surprises when I opened up his package. The picture had done him no justice, his markings were extremely nice and colorful, I'm assuming right out of shed. I took a closer look at him, and observed his eyes. Being used to my normal, I was not expecting his eyes to be a lighter color, with his pupils easily distinguishable; a very neat feature that caught me offguard. Included in the package was some paperwork regarding his morph, approximate hatch date, and last feeding. When I looked at the hatch date, I did a double take and realized that Silva and I share the same birthday. It almost seems that by sheer coincidence, or "fate" if you will, that he was the perfect fit for me.

I could not speak any more highly of the team over at Reptiles by Mack, and their amazing effort and passion for these animals. To them I say thank you, and you have my continued support and service.
