Dry Skin?
Ok, so my new ball python just shed (Clean shed too, whoo!) and it's been a couple of days so I decided to hold him, and I noticed he felt super soft, as in, incredibly soft. When I took my orange ghost out, he kind of felt dry and rough, comparatively. But only by comparison, nothing about him makes me think he's dry or rough besides the fact my other snake feels softer.
So do you think my other guy feels softer because he just shed? Is that a thing?
The humidity in my orange ghosts bin is like, 85% lol so I know it's good, I double checked with my other gauge, and 85% is maybe even a little too much, i think. He has water and seems to thermoregulate himself like normal.
i really don't think he's dehydrated, but I wanted to ask people that have kept snakes for years what they had to say about it. I'm assuming its just the others new skin feeling soft, but figure it can't hurt to ask, and if there's a problem, nip it in the butt ya know?
for the record, I've kept snakes before, it's just been like, 10 years lol so little stuff like this I can't remember. Plus I probably wasn't as involved as I should've been at 16 with a snake, as an adult I take it a lot more seriously lol
