Hi all!!
I've been away for about 2 weeks, visiting my family in Northwestern Ontario. Decent visit, but not always the nicest weather.
Anywho. I left my critters in the care of my 18 year-old brother in law... and by that, I mean he fed and watered Azure, my blue tongued skink, while the snakes took care of themselves
She is a monster. I love it. Just for fun, I'm going to post some earlier comparison shots to give you an idea:
On the left is her second day home, on the right is 3 weeks after.
Aaaaand yesterday at 6.5 weeks (see her rock in the front right?):
This is a measurement shot taken this morning, weighing 450g on the nose!
Roughly 17"! And born on June 4th(ish)... so, about 3 months old.
I'm not sure if this is "typical" BTS growth rate or not. Still keeping in touch with the wonderful John Delayhe, her breeder. He thinks it could be genetics, as Azure's mom is very large for size as an adult. He says his hold back of her sibling looks much smaller, so we'll see! (Maybe my photos just make her look extra big though, she could very well be of average size for age).
Either way I am very excited.
My partner and I are moving house+home this weekend, and Azure will get her adult tank ASAP! Bet she's looking forward to it.
Thanks for reading!
P.S.
I forgot to mention that OBVIOUSLY the babysitter (a.k.a. brother in law) did a great job. He fed her thawed pre-frozen portions of food that I made for Azure beforehand, as I normally do, with a mix loosely based on the Youtube video from LLL Reptiles.
