If your using a screen top, I would recommend covering all of it except where any fixtures go through with tinfoil or something. See where the humidity stabilzes, then uncover a bit at a time until you get to where you need to be without misting much. Better yet would be to cut a custom top out of plywood and seal it with polycrylic or something . I'm not sure what wattage to recommend, as it a function of cage size room temps and ventilation combined, but I think the CHEs come in 50 or 75w, and would try one of those sizes. They last practically forever too.
