Hi! I just joined this forum. I am currently gathering supplies to construct a comfy habitat for a baby ball python (haven't bought it yet). Is it bad to buy one from Petco?


I still need to find appropriate lighting and heating for a 20x20 terrarium, but I'm very confused as to which lights to buy. It seems like I need a bask lamp and a general lighting lamp, but I'm unsure. Could anyone break it down for me?

I also have questions about keeping the snake in quarantine.
Ultimately I want to create a vivarium complete with succulents and other plant life, so I am planning on initially quarantining my baby ball in a Large Exo Terra Faunarium for a few weeks while I observe the health of the plants. How do I go about properly heating and lighting the faunarium during this time?

Do you think it's too ambitious to create a whole vivarium for a first time snake owner? I just love the idea of having a tiny little ecosystem for my snake to reign over.

I would really appreciate any advice y'all can share, as well as any experiences with quarantine, or the challenge of creating a healthy vivarium. Thankssssssss
