Hello all,
I have a 4 month old Female Caramel Albino BP. Since I have had Gozer, I have only seen her shed once. It was a bad shed (she did not shed in one piece and had eye caps, as well as stuck shed on her tail.) I sprayed her down the next two days and all the shed came off. This was about 3-4 weeks ago. Since then, I have been keeping a close eye on her to make sure I catch the early stages of shedding so I can increase the humidity and spray her daily to help this process.
Everything has been looking fine:
-No pink belly
- No cloudy eyes
- No faded coloration (as far as I can tell)
I cleaned out Gozer's enclosure tonight and had a close look at her. I noticed that some of the scales on her body were looking like she was about to shed (kind of flakey looking.) She's been hanging out on the cool side of her tank, so I think she feels more humidity there. She also has been rubbing her head against the log on the cool side of the enclosure. In comparison, these behaviors are similar to the last time she was in shed and I feel like I caught it too late.
The questions I have are:
-Is the time for shedding consistent?
- Are there other factors I need to look for in the early stages of shedding: besides the aforementioned signs.
- Should I spray her once a day and increase the humidity level at this time even though it has only been 3-4 weeks since her last shed?
I really do not want Gozer to go through another bad shed, so if anybody out there can answer these questions, I would appreciate it.
Thanks!
