Probably the worst luck ever, has this ever happened to you?
So, this is both very sad, and just a horrible chain of events for me this last week.
i recently bought a beautiful! Champagne male ball python from someone locally who was selling him to raise money to purchase a rack system for future breeding.
i adored this little snake, he was gorgeous and very sweet.
his curious behavior really won my heart.
I named him Blathazar.
well, I purchased him on a Friday.
Took many pictures, and what not.
Took all three of my ball pythons with me to show a friend who was eager to see my newest snake.
on the short drive home, once back inside.
I got to return all three from the travel Tupperware to their tanks and the Chamoagne was gone.
I panicked and frantically sifted through the bedding in the tote- no luck.
so then I rushed out to my car and tore under the seats, and tore the panel off the back of the passenger seat.
it got really cold that night and the next two following.
After loosing him everything went down hill.
A vengeful ex best friend called animal control on me under false claims, saying my dog was kept in a kennel full of feces, my data had mated fur with poop stuck, a snake got loose in my car.
animal control searched and seen that all animals were healthy , clean and very happy.
the following night a family friend is gunned down by police in front of his wife and neighbors because neighbors claime he was being threatening.(which he was not. He was shooting off fireworks)
every few hours since my snake disappeared I checked under the seats, the good, every nook and cranny.
At night if set up hide boxes with heated pads hoping to lure him out.
No luck.
So I started to hope that maybe he escaped my car and got free.
well, Sunday as I got ready to go to the park with a friend, we smelt something a little off.
didnt think much of it.
searched the car some more.
The following morning I go to leave for work and as soon as I open the door I was knocked back by the overwhelming smell of decay.
Ive already cried and cut my loses over my beloved snake.
But now I'm stuck driving around in my death cab and nothing I can do about it.
i know I'm not the first person this has happened to.
Same thing happened to a friend.
im still out one snake, and $200 down the drain, but this god awful smell........
why, just why!
Does anyone reading this have any suggestions to maybe help with the stench?
dont suggest tearing the car apart to find him, I can't afford that. Because they won't find him... But, I just want helpful advice on ways to make this smell more tolerable.
And word of advice, don't travel with your snakes unless they're being kept in a tote that has snapping latches. Not snap on lids
